Resume Game

Submission for Mintbean.io hackathon.

May 2021

mintbean Mintbean challenged participants to create an action game in one week using Phaser. The theme was action. My personal take on an action...is keeping up the grind and sending out resumes!

The context~  You are a software developer, trying to get a job! You musn't be discouraged by rejections. You must keep pushing out resumes!

Why a resume game?~  Sometimes when I send out resumes, I feel like they go down a black hole...into the empty void of space! Regardless of the struggle, one can't become complacent, or it may be game over! Click to shoot out some resumes!

When I was learning Phaser, one thing I studied was a spaceship-shooting tutorial...but I wasn't thrilled with the idea of making just another basic shooter game! So I switched out the lasers for word-documents and the spaceship for my laptop! One small change in the code, one big response from players! Thanks Mintbean for recognizing my creative twist!

Hi, I'm Richard! I took an interest in code when I discovered that the apps I used on a daily basis either lacked features or were not very intuitive! Other times I just wanted to see whether I could replicate some cool features that I saw!

These days, I'm particularly interested in learning...so I've been working on a React app called Guesscards where people can create flashcards to study and easily sort and search through them!

I'm also looking for work opportunities, so contact me if you're interested. :)
